Celebrating Genoa’s heritage
Nevada’s oldest town was filled to the gills on Saturday by visitors to Genoa’s Western Heritage Days.
Two concerts were near sell-outs on Friday and Saturday.
Organizers expected about 3,000 people to attend, and parking in the town was at a premium as visitors parked along the streets entering the town.
Genoa dates back to 1851 where it was founded as a trading post along the trail to the California gold fields. It was the Douglas County seat from 1864 to 1916, when Minden took that over.
