Carson woman killed in Sunday accident
A Carson City woman was killed on Sunday afternoon when she drove off the side of Highway 50 Alternate south of Fernley.
Carolyn M. Dana, 31, was eight miles south of Fernley traveling south in a 2003 Mazda sedan at about 2 p.m. when she crossed the opposing travel lane and then off the shoulder through a fence and rolled several times.
Nevada Highway Patrol investigators said she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle, suffering fatal injuries. No other vehicles were involved and she was the only occupant of the vehicle.
