Carson Valley Days Carnival tickets now available for presale

Presale carnival tickets for the 107th year of Carson Valley Days are now available throughout the valley.

Tickets are $20 each, same as previous years, and are good for Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Carson Valley Days.

Presale tickets are not valid for the Thursday evening buddy night. Those tickets are only available onsite at Lampe Park.

Tickets are $26 onsite.

“We have three locations available in the valley for you to purchase tickets; Nevada State Bank in Minden as well as Raley’s and Accolades Trophies in Gardnerville,” organizer Tommy Lovell said.

Carson Valley Days are just around the corner.

During this year’s parade — from Minden to Gardnerville —be sure to give an extra salute to the big red trucks and red and blue lights as a first-responders make their way down the parade route.

“Salute to First Responders” is the theme of the 107th annual Carson Valley Days Festival, set for June 8-11. It is presented by the Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club #85.

The annual celebration kicks off with a carnival in Lampe Park on Thursday, June 8 and culminates in the June 10 Carson Valley Day Parade from Minden to Gardnerville.

The original Carson Valley Days celebration was in June of 1910, but it was observed sporadically during the first 35 years. It wasn’t until the end of World War II that the event was organized annually by the 20-30 Club. The club has participated in the event since the 1930s, according to

The 2017 Carson Valley Days buttons are available from the Carson Valley Lions Club. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Douglas High School graphics department.

This year’s button was designed by graphics department students in honor of the men and women who serve Douglas County.

Local businesses selling buttons include: The Record-Courier, ABE Printing, Tillman Lane 7-Eleven, Highway 395 7-Eleven, Wink Silver Strike, Jethro’s, Hamdog’s, Ace Hardware, Nevada State Bank and Accolades Trophies. Buttons are $1 each.
