Carson Valley Medical Center hosts a family health and wellness fair 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 21.

The event will offer free health screenings including nutritional assessments, glucose screening, lung health screening, physical therapy assessment, body composition analysis, and blood pressure checks.

Children preparing to enroll for next season’s sports teams can receive a free sports physical.

Flu vaccinations will be offered by Carson City Health and Human Services. Vaccinations can be billed to most major insurances or are available for $20.

For additional health and wellness, visit the relaxation station to learn how to reduce stress through yoga, aromatherapy, and massage.

Many local agencies will be available to provide information on living a healthy lifestyle, including the Partnership of Community Resources, Family Support Council, Care Flight, East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts, Wildtree Natural Products, Heart to Heart School, CVMC Breast Cancer Resource Center, Podiatrist Dr. Melhuish, Backpack Buddies, WIC, and Home Instead Senior Care.

Healthy snacks will be available from several booths, and children can spend time in the free bounce house and face painting station.

The fair will be in the CVMC parking lot at 1107 Highway 395 at the south end of Gardnerville.

Attendees interested in the nutritional assessment are advised to bring any recent lab results, if available. Attendees interested in glucose screening are advised to fast for the most accurate results. Bring an insurance card for flu vaccinations.
