Carson Valley Days coming up
The 89th annual Carson Valley Days, sponsored by the 20-30 Club will be packed with fun for the whole family this year, beginning with an art show Friday, June 11.
– June 11. The art show will start at 9 a.m. and run all-day to 8 p.m. at the CVIC Hall in Minden.
At noon, an arts and crafts fair will be held at Lampe Park and at 6 p.m., a softball tournament will open at Lampe Park.
– June 12. On Saturday, June 12, those registering for the parade need to be at the Douglas High School parking lot from 6:45 a.m.-8:45 a.m.. The parade starts at 9 a.m.
The parade will continue down County Road to Esmeralda to Highway 395 and end at Lampe Park at noon.
The second round of the softball tournament will start at 8 a.m. and arts and crafts and food will be available all day at the park.
The art show and sale will also continue at the CVIC Hall.
At 11:30 a.m. at Lampe Park, the Citizen of the Year award will be announced, with the parade awards given out shortly after at 12:30 p.m.
Those who want to take part in the adult arm wrestling tournament, backhoe rodeo competition, and pedal tractor pull need to register at 11 a.m. for those contests will will be held throughout the afternoon.
The youth games begin at 1:15.
Down at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, the rodeo will begin at 7 p.m. and the dance will start at 9 p.m. The dance contest will start at 10:30 p.m.
– June 13. On Sunday, June 13, the fun will continue at Lampe Park with all day arts and crafts and food concessions.
The Lions Club will have a breakfast from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. at Lampe Park and the softball tournament will wrap up at Lampe Park.
The art show and sale will also continue at the CVIC Hall while the wacky duck race starts at noon at Lampe Park.
The arm wrestling championship will start at 1 p.m., along with the rodeo at the fairgrounds. Sunday is Family Day at the rodeo and kids under 12 can get in free with a paying adult.
The backhoe rodeo championship will start at 1:30 p.m. and the 20-30 Club raffle drawing will take place at Lampe Park at 4:30 p.m.
