Carson Valley Ag Day hits Lampe Park

Staff Reports

The Douglas-Carson Farm Bureau is hosting the first annual Carson Valley Ag Day at Lampe Park.

The family friendly event on Aug. 13 will celebrate the Valley’s agricultural history and help the community better understand where food and fiber comes from, how it’s grown and who the people who make it are.

It will also be an opportunity to hear about the achievements of kids and teens in 4-H and Future Farmers of America.

There will be an opportunity to taste locally grown beef, find new ideas about healthy eating and edible gardens.

There will also be a chance to explore the tractors and farm equipment that helped build the Valley.

For the kids there will be pedal tractor pulls, horseshoe contests, sack races, a petting zoo, face painting and dozens of interactive booths.

At Yogurt Beach they will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 13.

The Douglas-Carson Farm Bureau is a non-profit organization that helps sustain the farmers and ranchers in the community.
