Carson Valley a great place to live
October 6, 2011
This year I have been part of the 2011 Leadership Douglas County class and it has taught me a lot.
After commuting and working in South Lake Tahoe for 12 years I had an opportunity to accept a new position in the Carson Valley and I applied for this unique class to learn more about the history and all different aspects of the Carson Valley and Douglas County.
I have learned so much more than I ever hoped for.
There are serious challenges in education, social services and public safety, but at the same time there are many opportunities in tourism, recreation and for economic development in Douglas County.
Kudos to the many volunteer organizations which are working behind the scenes to take care of children and elderly in need of assistance and they do all this without any financial assistance.
