Burgers for Badges connects community
RE/MAX Reality Affiliates and Sierra Pacific Mortgage are attempting to connect the community.
The businesses have partnered up to produce Burgers For Badges.
The second annual Burgers For Badges is set for 4-7 p.m. Sept. 9 at Minden Park.
Burgers for Badges launched last year as a way for the community to thank local law enforcement.
“We wanted to do something to show support and appreciation while bringing the community together and giving them the chance to meet and thank their law enforcement,” said RE/MAX Reality Affiliates agent Jeanne Koerner. “Really it’s about connecting our community.”
Koerner said a community that stands together, stays together and Burgers For Badges is one way of making that happen.
“I think many communities break because they don’t stand up for their communities together,” she said. “This is a great community to live in, but it’s not going to stay that way unless we stand up and say what kind of community we want to be.”
Burgers For Badges is a free event open to the public. This year’s event features live entertainment by “No Clue” and a chance to explore and learn about emergency vehicles including SWAT, K-9 units, Search and Rescue and more.
