Buckeye Road work to start Monday
Expect traffic controls as Buckeye Road work is scheduled to begin today.
Sierra Nevada Construction Inc. won the bid for the project which will result in roadway and driveway work between Heybourne and Orchard Roads.
The entire stretch will be paved before the six-week construction is done in September.
“For the safety of you, our workers, and your vehicle, please adhere to the traffic control personnel,” Douglas County Spokeswoman Melissa Blosser. “During various stages of construction flaggers and pilot cars will be used to maintain safe traffic flows during construction. Driveway access will be maintained throughout construction, although there is a potential for short traffic delays during asphalt removal and paving operations at the driveway and pilot car locations.”
The total cost of the project is estimated to be $1.61 million, including materials testing, inspection and administration.
The road will be widened by 4 feet to include bicycle lanes.
