Buckeye Road work takes break

Staff Reports
Buckeye Road was taken all the way down to the base. Work will be halted this week while the concrete cures and then will resume after Labor Day.

Sierra Nevada Construction will be cement treating the base of Buckeye Road.

Next week there will be no work to allow for the cement treatment to fully cure.

We encourage residents and businesses to use Toler Lane as an alternate route when possible to minimize the impact on the newly cement treated base during the curing procedure.

Paving will start on Sept. 6-9. Expect longer delays during the paving operation.

■ Mill Street is expected to reopen by Tuesday morning as work continues on the drainage issues there.

Gardnerville Town Manager Tom Dallaire said plans are to shut down Douglas Avenue for a short time to redo the gutter and sidewalk ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

“The town thanks the residents and businesses in the area for their patience,” he said.
