Second wreck snarls Highway 395 in northern Mono

Two wrecks in northern Mono County snarled traffic along Highway 395 on Friday.

On Friday morning an overturned big rig with a 30,000 pound cargo blocked the highway.

The wreck was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 7:37 a.m. No one was injured.

The California Department of Transportation reported the wreck was cleared by 2 p.m.

A second vehicle rollover occurred at 4:19 p.m. on Highway 395 near the agricultural station.

At least one person was helicoptered for medical treatment as a result of the wreck.

On Saturday morning, chains or snow tires are being required on Highway 50 over Spooner Summit and Highway 28 heading to Incline Village.

A short storm dropped trace amounts of snow in the mountains and rain in Carson Valley.

National Weather Forecasters are warning motorists to watch out for slick roads.
