Bently Hall won’t be open for two weeks

Staff reports

Though the grand opening of the Douglas campus of Western Nevada Community College will be celebrated tomorrow, the college won’t open for classes for about two more weeks.

Construction delays have slowed the completion of the building.

However, school will begin as scheduled on Monday, Aug. 25.

Douglas Dean Bus Scharmann designed the Douglas fall schedule so that all daytime classes could be held at the college’s offices in the Mountain View Professional Center in Gardnerville until the building is opened.

Several evening WNCC classes will continue to be taught at Douglas High School. Scharmann is in negotiations with school officials to use seven additional classrooms for a couple of weeks for the evening classes that had been scheduled for the new building.
