Bail $50,000 in DUI case
A Gardnerville Ranchos man was arrested Tuesday night after he was pulled over for driving with a license suspended for driving under the influence.
Nathan Daniel Willetts, 29, had been put under the supervision of alternative sentencing on Jan. 13 as a condition of bail.
Defense attorney Kristine Brown told Perkins that Willetts was picking up food and medicine for his girlfriend.
“He wasn’t just driving around,” she said.
Prosecutor Eric Levin argued against allowing Willetts back out on bail.
“We can’t count on him not to drive or use narcotics while he is out on bail,” Levin said.
Perkins ordered the $50,000 bail in the case to stand, unless he is admitted to a treatment program. Perkins set a March 1 trial date on a charge of driving under the influence, second offense.
