January 5, 2012
Bail was set at $50,000 for a Gardnerville man who was apprehended in Carson City on Wednesday night on an allegation of the sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl.
Victor Mora Jr., 28, was taken into custody at the Carson City Inn by Douglas County sheriff’s investigator Nadine Chrzanowski with the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Jim Halsey said Mora was arrested at 7:30 p.m. without incident.
Halsey said Chrzanowski received an anonymous tip that Mora was at the hotel.
“Investigator Chrzanowski expresses her appreciation for assistance received from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office in effecting this arrest,” Halsey said.
Earlier Wednesday, the sheriff’s office issued an announcement that Mora was believed to be hiding from law enforcement because he feared prosecution on a felony charge of lewdness with a minor.
