Assemblyman removed from caucus

Staff Reports

In a statement issued last night, leadership of the Assembly Democratic Caucus announced that Assemblyman Steven Brooks is no longer a member.-

“At this time, the organization has determined it’s in Mr. Brooks and the organization’s best interest to part ways,” the statement said.-“The caucus encourages him to work on his health issues without the rigor of caucus business.”

Brooks was arrested on Jan. 19 on charges he threatened Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick.

He attended the opening of the session on Monday where it was announced that he would seek medical leave. Brooks then repudiated that announcement and said he would take his seat and serve his term.
