Arts Mini Grant program offered for Douglas County Schools

Staff Reports

The Carson Valley Arts Council is offering a new Arts Mini Grant program for Douglas County Schools to expand and support arts for youth.

A request from Scarselli Elementary School for the Missoula Children’s Theatre was the first proposal funded in 2018. All school arts and music teachers are eligible to submit a proposal. A proposal can request a maximum of $1,000 from CVAC. Proposals also must have matching funds. An application for the Mini Grant program is available on the CVAC website, http://www.cvartscouncil.com or can be picked up at our office at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 US Hwy 305, Minden.

The next round of proposals is due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26 at the CVAC office. Funding for the youth arts education outreach program is very limited. All proposals will be reviewed by a selection committee based on the following criteria: quality and clarity of proposal/description, number of students impacted, feasibility, expected arts impacts, funds requested and source/amount of match funding. All publicity about the project must include the Carson Valley Arts Council.

For more information, call the Carson Valley Arts Council office at 782-8207 or at info@cvartscouncil.com.
