Arts Mini Grant program offered for Douglas County Schools

Staff Reports

The Carson Valley Arts Council is offering a new Arts Mini Grant program for Douglas County Schools to expand and support arts for youth.

A request from Scarselli Elementary School for the Missoula Children’s Theatre was the first proposal funded in 2018. All school arts and music teachers are eligible to submit a proposal. A proposal can request a maximum of $1,000 from CVAC. Proposals also must have matching funds. An application for the Mini Grant program is available on the CVAC website, or can be picked up at our office at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 US Hwy 305, Minden.

The next round of proposals is due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26 at the CVAC office. Funding for the youth arts education outreach program is very limited. All proposals will be reviewed by a selection committee based on the following criteria: quality and clarity of proposal/description, number of students impacted, feasibility, expected arts impacts, funds requested and source/amount of match funding. All publicity about the project must include the Carson Valley Arts Council.
