Annual Carson Valley Turkey Trot set to run Thanksgiving

Registration is taking place for the second annual Carson Valley Turkey Trot 5K fun run beginning at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 22 at Minden Park, 1601 Sixth St., Minden.

Participants interested in signing up can go online to http://www.classy.org/carsonvalleyturkeytrot or paper registration will be available the day of the event starting at 7:30 a.m. Warm-up for the run will begin at 8:15 a.m.

The event offers snacks, coffee, T-shirts, swag bags, a photo booth, prizes and more. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations completed after Nov. 1.

Dogs on leashes are welcome, and fun outfits are encouraged.

General entry frees are $35 for single participants $85 for families of four and $200 for teams of 10. The price goes up on Nov. 22 to $40 for singles, $100 for families of four and $275 for teams of 10.

Event organizers are seeking to raise $10,000. As of Nov. 14, according to http://www.classy.org, more than $6,000 had been generated.
