A longtime Carson Valley resident, Addeo joined The R-C's staff in August 2013.

The Record-Courier received several editorial and advertising awards at the convention.

Former R-C staff writer Sarah Hauck won first place for best feature for her story on Carson Valley residents Clarence Godecke and Garry Den Heyer. Godecke was a pilot flying a bomber delivering food to hungry Dutch children, including Den Heyer, at the end of World War II.

"Clearly the head of the class," the judge said.
