7-acre fire quickly knocked down
A controlled burn on Saturday led to a seven-acre wildfire that was quickly knocked down by the East Fork Fire Protection District.
East Fork received a call about 1:30 p.m. to the burn off of Genoa Lane. No structures were threatened, according to Battalion Chief Scott Fraser.
With the help of the land owners the fire was extinguished using five engines and three water tenders, Fraser said.
“East Fork wishes to remind the public that until we receive significant rain or snow that fire danger is still high,” Fraser said.
