n A drug sting resulted in the sentencing of a Carson City man to four years in Nevada State Prison for dealing methamphetamine. Pedro del Real, 35, must serve a minimum of one year in prison before he is put on parole. Page A3

n The audience at Douglas High School’s annual talent show enjoyed a variety of musical performances, Thursday. Bands featured an array of rock music – from metal, to acoustic, to screamo, to just plain, raw rock ‘n roll. Page B1

n Seven gingerbread houses – ranging from a mission, to Tiger stadium, to a whimsical creation – received awards at a gingerbread house contest at Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, Saturday. A special community spirit award was presented to the Douglas County trusties for their gingerbread house built at the county jail. Page B1

n A 17-year-old Johnson Lane resident collected warm clothing for children in a Reno shelter for his Eagle Scout project. The winter coats, hats and mittens will be given to the Kid’s Kottage, a shelter for abused or abandoned children ages newborn through 17. Page B1

n Western Nevada Community College signed five players to its women’s soccer program last week. Among the signees were two former Douglas Tigers, Ali Pyne and Courtney Lenhart. Page C1

n The Douglas wrestling team finished fourth at the tough Lowry Invitational Saturday in Winnemucca. The Tigers’ Shane Miller won the 189-pound weight class. Page C1
