3 held in drug trafficking

Three men were arrested Wednesday on felony drug charges in connection with three sales of cocaine and marijuana.

Set to appear in East Fork Justice Court today are:

n Chad Grayot, 19, Minden, charged with trafficking in a Schedule 1 narcotic, sales of a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. He is in Douglas County Jail on $85,000 bail.

n Steven Vadenais, 19, Carson City, charged with sales of a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. He was jailed on $35,000 bail.

n Sachin Verma, 21, of Reno, charged with trafficking in a Schedule 1 controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. He was jailed on $35,000 bail.

According to reports, investigators and confidential informants made three purchases from Grayot.

On Dec. 7, a source purchased 28.8 grams of cocaine from Grayot in a transaction at the Scolari’s parking lot in Gardnerville.

On Dec. 13, Grayot sold 58.5 grams of cocaine to an investigator in the Del Taco parking lot at Carson Valley Plaza.

Grayot and Vadenais were arrested Wednesday after an investigator purchased 114 grams of marijuana from Grayot in the Target parking lot.

Vadenais was identified as the source of the marijuana and Verma reportedly provided the cocaine.

Verma was arrested later Wednesday at Chili’s restaurant.

Officials also recovered $1,600 in funds from the suspects used in two of the transactions.
