1,100 Minden residents affected by outage
December 14, 2016
While power has been restored to most of Minden, NV Energy reports 42 Genoa customers were without starting at 6:25 p.m.
An exploding transformer knocked electricity to 1,100 NV Energy customers in Minden at around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The transformer between Dressler and Kimmerling roads set a patch of grass on fire as it flamed out.
Law enforcement officers directed traffic at the intersection of highways 395 and 88 after the outage affected the traffic light there.
As of 7:30 p.m. power had been restored to all but eight Minden customers.
