Lectures coming to Genoa Courthouse Museum

A series of lectures and demonstrations will be held at the Genoa Courthouse Museum beginning in May.

“This summer, there will be many fun things happening at the museum. I am very excited about all of these events and feel they will be a wonderful attraction for the upcoming season at the Genoa Courthouse Museum,” said Shirley Giovacchini, director.

— May 9, 1 p.m. Lecture and Exhibit on Will James presented by Dick Wetzell.

— June 13, 1 p.m. Quilting demonstration presented by Sharon Campbell.

— July 11, 1 p.m. Navajo Story Telling for Children presented by Sherry Poppins Harrington.

— August 8, 1 p.m. Washo Basket weaving presented by Sue Coleman and Washoe Ladies demonstrating the art of basket making.

— September 12, 1 p.m. Lecture on photo restoration presented by TBA.

— October 10, 1 p.m. Lecture and Chautauqua on cemeteries of the area presented by Cindy Southerland.

The Genoa Courthouse Museum opens for the season May 5. It will be 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily through October 14.
