Gardnerville resident Bernie Curtis has been named Rep. Mark Amodei’s field representative for Northern Nevada.

A former Douglas County commissioner, Curtis most recently served as chief of the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation.

A longtime law enforcement officer, Curtis was undersheriff under Douglas County Sheriff Jerry Maple.

He also served as undersheriff in Elko County and was chief deputy in the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

In the private sector, Curtis was general manager of Sharkey’s, where he was named supervisor of the year by the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2007.

Curtis joins Amodei’s staff in a part-time capacity and will undertake outreach to local government, law enforcement and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
