Kiwanis welcomes new president

Dewey Jay

Every year members welcome a new president in the Kiwanis Club. This year, the group introduces member Ted Tiffany. He was born in Glendale, Calif. in 1935, and his background and experience reads like a dedicated person – dedicated to education and sports. Tiffany met his wife Darlene while they both were teaching and they were married in 1972.

Besides being past president of the Gateway Kiwanis in Glendale, Tiffany has been principal of a junior high school. He taught basketball, golf, tennis and achieved All-American status in basketball at Occidental College in Southern California. He was graduated with a bachelor’s degree and went on to get his master’s at California State University, Los Angeles. Education and sports – a great background to bring to the Valley. He is now president of the largest Kiwanis Club in Nevada.

An indoctrination dinner will be held in Tiffany’s honor tomorrow evening at Sharkey’s in Gardnerville.
