Kiwanis Club plans Ham Bingo

Staff reports

It must be spring and Easter must be approaching because Carson Valley/Gardnerville Kiwanis members are preparing for their annual Ham Bingo party. The event gets underway with the first game at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

“Don’t chase a hog when you can win a free ham,” suggests Larry Darling, chairman. “Don’t chase a hog” is the theme for the party this year.

During the evening, 50 hams and a number of special prizes will be awarded to winners. As is the club’s custom, players will be invited to help themselves to free refreshments. There will be cookies, popcorn, punch and coffee available throughout the evening. Bingo cards will cost 25 cents each. Change makers and card distributors will be cruising the floor to make things easy for the players.

Profits from the event will be used by the club to provide financial help to the more than 25 community-benefit organizations Kiwanis supports in Douglas County each year.
