Junior Rodeo set for August
The Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club recently donated $1,000 to the Douglas County Junior Rodeo group to help defray expenses.
“It was far beyond our expectations,” said Kari Knight of the rodeo club, who added, “We thank them so much.”
The Douglas County Junior Rodeo will be held Aug. 1 and 2 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Pinenut Road in Gardnerville. Both days will begin with a grand entry at 8:45 a.m. The rodeo will begin at 9 a.m.
Competitors range in ages up to 18, competing in events such as dummy roping, breakaway roping, calf riding, pole events and team roping, to name only a few.
Following Saturday’s performance, a jackpot team roping and barrel race will take place around 6 p.m.
Families are welcome and admission is free.
