Applications are being accepted for nonprofit organizations seeking to share in a portion of the proceeds from the Jethro’s Charity King Crab Feed & Steak Cookout.

The fourth annual cookout is Aug. 16 at Jethro’s Oven and Grille in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

“Since the first event in 2009 the event has donated $50,000 to needed programs in the Carson Valley like the Boys and Girls Club, Austin’s House, Douglas High School Volleyball, Douglas County Senior Center, Douglas High School Leadership Club and Alpine Search and Rescue and MEFIYI,” organizers said. “The event committee is comprised of Carson Valley residents committed to supporting worthy organizations who provide much needed services in our Community.”

This year’s event goal is $30,000, with all proceeds staying in Douglas County.

The feed is hosted by the Cinciala family, owners of Jethro’s Oven and Grille. Partners and supporters include the Tahoe-Douglas Elks Club, Full Belly Deli, Ranchos Pizza Factory, Sierra Canopy, the JT Basque Bar and Restaurant, Rite of Passage, Carson Valley Sertoma, American Sea Food, Model Dairy, the Carson Valley Inn, Harrah’s Entertainment (Caesar’s Entertainment), Topaz and Gardnerville Volunteer Fire Departments, and many others.

Sponsorships are available.
