ITC offers WIC program
Many Nevada families are missing out on a source of good nutrition education and free supplemental food because they don’t know they qualify for the WIC program, according to the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada.
The council’s WIC program, or Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, provides nutrition education and vouchers for foods rich in calcium, iron and protein that pregnant and postpartum women, babies and children under 5 years of age need to bolster their health.
The Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada WIC program provides WIC services at 22 sites throughout Nevada to all eligible persons regardless of their race, color, national origin, age, sex or handicap.
To find out if you qualify for WIC, call the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada WIC at (775) 355-0600.
