Staff Reports

Inyo-Mono Advocates for Community Action (IMACA) will be accepting new applications from income eligible families, seniors and individuals with a disability or handicap for the Section 8 housing assistance waiting list.

The Section 8 housing assistance program allows eligible households to live in a house, apartment or mobile home of their choice in Inyo or Mono County if the landlord is willing to accept a Section 8 tenant, the rental unit passes HUD Housing Quality Standards and the rental unit is determined to be rent-reasonable.

Applicants will be selected without reference to race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.

Households currently receiving assisted housing must submit a separate application in order to be eligible for the Section 8 program in Inyo or Mono County.

IMACA is located at 224 S. Main, Bishop, Calif. Applications will be accepted Feb. 2 through Feb. 27 in person or by mail between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. All mailed applications must be postmarked by Feb. 28.

Applications will be placed on the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis.
