Injuries reported from Highway 395 wreck
A two-vehicle collision at Highway 395 and Genoa Lane resulted in nonlife-threatening injuries to occupants.
Reported at 7:57 a.m. Thursday, work to clear the wreckage was still underway nearly an hour later.
The collision involved a silver Chevrolet Suburban sport utility vehicle and a Subaru stationwagon.
Nevada Highway Patrol spokeswoman Hannah DeGoey reported the initial report indicates the Suburban made a left turn from the highway onto Genoa Lane into the path of the southbound Subaru.
The Chevrolet had extensive damage to the passenger’s side, while the Subaru’s front end was caved in, indicating a T-bone type collision common on the highway.
The southbound lanes were closed briefly while medics loaded the injured into ambulances.
East Fork medics and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to the collision.
The NHP will be in charge of the investigation.
