Holiday programs on Channel 26
A special series of holiday programs will be shown next week on Channel 26, which will include stories relating to the Hanukkah/Christmas season, a special Christmas story and a “Dickens of a Christmas.” This will be in addition to a choral presentation by churches and school groups from Douglas County.
The Douglas County public access station will show these special holiday programs from Dec. 24 through Dec. 28 at 10 a.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. Two of the shows will be shown as a part of the county library’s storytime and Hope, which are regular features.
The Christmas choral programs will include groups from the Carson Valley Methodist Church, the Second and Third Wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Coventry Cross Episcopal Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Douglas High School and Carson Valley Middle School.
This will be the first year that Channel 26 has preempted its usual schedule to present such special holiday features and is a part of the new non-profit corporation’s focus on timely local programming.
