High tea ticket sales kicked off at event
What could be more warm, inviting and entertaining than a Victorian high tea on a winter Sunday afternoon?
Combine the high tea with a fashion show of authentic Victorian-era fashions, and you have the elements of a delightful and entertaining afternoon.
The Carson Valley Historical Society will hold its Valentine Victorian High Tea fund-raiser at the River Bend Grille at the Golf Course at Genoa Lakes in February.
“This is a great opportunity to invite a dear friend, mother, daughter or husband to share an historical visit to the women’s fashion styles of 100 years ago,” said spokesperson Liz Paul.
Women are welcome to wear a Victorian-style hat – an heirloom or one of their own creation – and compete for a special prize.
A drawing will be held for a variety of other prizes, including gift baskets, teapots, tea party books and a very special grand prize.
The tickets for the event and raffle tickets are available at the museum and cultural center. Tea and fashion show tickets are $25 each and raffle tickets, $1 for each or six for $5. No admission tickets will be sold at the door, as reservations must be made in advance.
