Governor vetoes law that prevents transgender health discrimination
June 22, 2017
Gov. Brian Sandoval vetoed bill mandating that health insurers in Nevada cover all medically necessary transgender health care needs.
Assembly Bill 408 would have made it plain that no health care provider shall discriminate against intersex, transgender or other sex/gender diverse persons.
“Affirming medical care supports transgender persons to be more fully engaged in our families, in our workplaces and in our communities.”
