Girl Scouts seek funds for trip to Mexico

Staff reports

Girl Scouts will be celebrating World Patrol Center Day by holding an all-day fund-raiser with four different events on Saturday, May 2.

The proceeds will go to help send to The World Patrol Center a group of teen-age Girl Scouts, including Sarah Wise, Katie Baumruck and Arlene Miller from the Carson Valley to Mexico City.

There will be a garage sale and a car wash from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old Gym Playhouse at the Carson Valley Middle School, 1475 Hwy. 395 in Gardnerville.

Anyone who would like to donate something for the garage sale should call Lucille Roa at 265-6500.

There will also be a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by a bake sale at the United Methodist Church at 1375 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville. Tickets may be purchased through area Girl Scouts or call Molly Jordan at 265-4574. Prices for the spaghetti dinner are $5 for an adult, $3 for children 5 to 12 and children under 5 are free. Family tickets (maximum six persons) are also available for $15.

After the dinner, desserts will be available for purchase.
