Girl Scouts collecting aluminum cans

Staff reports

Cadette Girl Scout Troop 307 of Minden is collecting aluminum cans to earn money for a trip to Europe next summer.

While in Europe, the girls will visit London, England, southern Scotland and Paris, France.

After their trip, the girls will share their experiences with children and senior citizens in the area.

“Girl Scouts have always been dedicated to preserving our natural resources and learning more about the people in our world,” said Erin Wilson, spokesperson for the troop.

“During our trip to Europe, we hope to be able to meet other Girl Scouts at the international center in London.”

Troop members will supply donors with plastic bags, and they will pick up these when full.

Anyone who would like to donate cans to the troop should call Wilson at 782-4113.

To obtain recognition or awards for recycling the cans, call Laurie Cupp at 267-1595.
