Genoa VFD to celebrate 50 years

Staff reports

For those who have driven along Jacks Valley Road to Genoa and have seen the new Genoa Volunteer Firehouse and admired it, now’s the time to see the inside.

The public is invited to the Genoa VFD’s 50th anniversary celebration June 19 at the new fire station. Tickets for the barbecue dinner at 6 p.m. and dance following are $12.50 now and will be $15 at the door.

An open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for people who wish to see the new station.

A silent auction and live music and dancing with the band Comstock Cowboys are planned.

Fire fighters are in the process of going about the neighborhood in Genoa, selling tickets to the event.

Tickets can also be purchased at the fire station or at the Genoa Post Office.
