Genoa home tour coming up
Tickets are now available for the annual Genoa Area House and Garden Tour to be held on Sunday, June 6, between 10 a.m and 4 p.m. All tickets are $10, and the tour will feature 14 historic homes and buildings.
Proceeds will again benefit the Carson Advocates for Cancer Victims, an all-volunteer agency that helps defray the cost of medication and treatment for Carson, Douglas, Lyon and Story cancer victims, and the Genoa Renaissance Fair.
Funds from previous tours have purchased and installed a new furnace for the Genoa Courthouse Museum and assisted the Genoa Masonic Lodge with funds to help complete restoration on its historic building.
Last year’s funds were donated to the Carson Advocates for Cancer Victims.
Because of the limited number of tickets, people should plan on getting tickets early so they can enjoy touring the historic and modern homes of Genoa and the Carson Valley.
Advance tickets may be purchased at the Genoa Courthouse Museum, Antiques Plus and Laura Springs Antiques in the Genoa area; in Gardnerville at the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Authority; in Minden at Winans Furniture; in Carson City at Heart and Home Framing and Gallery, Marlo’s Wines and Medicap Pharmacy; in Virginia City at the Mark Twain Book Store; and at South Lake Tahoe at Patricia’s Antiques in the Round Hill shopping center. Tickets will be sold at the Genoa Courthouse Museum on the day of the tour.
Tickets may also be ordered by calling Laura Springs Antiques, 782-2893, or Antiques Plus, 782-2893.
