A hunt for an alleged shooting suspect in Gardnerville has wound down this morning.

Douglas and Carson City authorities swarmed a Gardnerville home near Hussman and Jessica at around 9 a.m. looking for a suspect in a 6 a.m. Carson shooting that left one man dead and a woman injured.

By 10 a.m. the search in Gardnerville was winding down as deputies cancelled a reverse 911 broadcast and a request for help from Washoe County’s RAVEN helicopter.

Carson City investigators returned to the capital shortly thereafter.

The man being sought knew the woman, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said. Her condition is unknown.

The Carson shooting occurred at Carmine Street and Airport Road, and law enforcement targeted a Gardnerville home in what Furlong described as “a massive hunt.”

“When deputies got here (at the Carson Address), they found an elderly gentleman deceased and an injured 19-year-old female,” Furlong said earlier this morning. The woman has been transported to Renown hospital via Care Flight, he said.
