Freeze warning issued for Western Nevada

A freeze warning for Western Nevada is 2-8 a.m. today as temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-20s late tonight.

Forecasters say cold temperatures are expected to damage some crops. Indoor pets and animals not bred for cold temperatures should be kept inside.

On Sunday afternoon, up to 3 inches of snow was reported on Kingsbury Grade as wet weather returned to Nevada.

Scattered showers may continue until 11 p.m. under mostly cloudy skies. The low in Carson Valley is expected to hit 28 degrees.

Monday will be mostly sunny with a high of 57 degrees, and a west winds 10-15 mph.

Near freezing temperatures are expected to return Monday night, and then temperatures will plummet into the 20s on Wednesday and Thursday night.
