Former state treasurer to speak in Minden

Former two-term Nevada State Treasurer Kate Marshall and University of Nevada, Reno, Professor of Economics Elliot Parker will discuss pay equity in Minden on Aug. 7.

The discussion is hosted by the Douglas County Democratic Women at their monthly luncheon at the Carson Valley Inn.

Marshall is an attorney, a politician and a member of the Democratic Party. She served as treasurer of Nevada in 2006 and 2010.

Parker is a regular columnist for The Nevada Independent.

Together they have just published a new book titled: “Nevada’s Great Recession, Looking Back, Moving Forward.”

The luncheon is 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
