Former Gardnerville singer returns for C-TH Cowboy Jubilee
Belinda Gail, originally from Gardnerville, and her group, Wild Wind, will be performing at the Carson City Cowboy Jamboree on March 13 at the Carson City Community Center Theater.
Gail has been nominated for female performer of the year in 1996, 1997 and 1998 by the Academy of Western Artists and in 1997 and 1998 by the Western Music Association.
She will be performing songs from her latest album, “Lass of the San Joaquin,” nominated for the 1998 album of the year by the Academy of Western Artists.
The Cowboy Jubilee and Poetry event also features Baxter Black, Sourdough Slim, Randy Pollard and John McLain. Showtimes are 4 and 8 p.m.
The 5th annual event is sponsored by the Carson-Tahoe Auxiliary and features Black as its headliner. He is a well-known cowboy poet and is heard on National Public Radio.
Reserved seating is $25 and general admission is $20 available at the door. The box office opens at 2 p.m.
A Western barbecue will be held in the gym from 5 to 8 p.m. at a cost of $8 for adults and $5 for children. Music for the barbecue will be proved by the Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association.
