Food closet will welcome extra garden produce
Has your garden been kind to you this year? Why not gather what you don’t need and take it by the Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
Someone will be available to accept your fresh vegetables and/or fruit every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.
People with chickens may like to share fresh eggs as well.
The Carson Valley Community Food Closet, located at 1255 Waterloo Lane (across from Lampe Park) in Gardnerville, is in its 12th year of operation. Manned solely by volunteers, the food closet provides year-round emergency food supplies to families who qualify through Douglas County Social Services.
