Food Closet rummage sale coming up

by Rosemarie Middendorf

Friends of Carson Valley Community Food Closet will hold the fifth annual Rummage Sale Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21 and 22, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The sale will be located at 1573 Highway 395, Minden, in the old Sierra Pacific Power Co.

A large variety of clothing for all ages, toys, games, books, furniture, dishes, appliances, tools and more will be available. The sale is open to everyone, contributors, lookiloos and shoppers – so whatever your status, please consider providing a non-perishable food item when you stop by. A container will be available for that purpose.

Baby items and small child items are still needed. Games, toys and books with all pieces, parts and pages will be appreciated. Also baby furniture, cribs, strollers, bassinets, etc., in good useable condition. Please provide only clean, ready-to-wear clothing. To donate, please call Patty at 267-2890 (h) or 782-9038 (w).

All proceeds from this sale will go directly to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, located in the Hussman Building, 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville, according to Patty Ferguson, Chairman.

A non-profit organization, the CVC Food Closet is operated solely by volunteers. They provide emergency food supplies year-round to families when in need who qualify.
