Flycasters to hear from expert

Ned Long of Tahoe City will share his expertise in fly-tying at the High Sierra Fly Casters meeting Wednesday, Feb. 16. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church located at 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

Long has been tying for over 50 years and is recognized as one of the top tiers in the world. He is the recipient of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) Buz Buszek Memorial Fly Tying Award – the Heisman trophy of the fly tying world. Long also teaches the fly tying course at FFF’s National Conclave. He will demonstrate his innovative techniques and unique use of standard materials from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
