Would you like the opportunity to win a handmade custom bamboo fishing rod? Not only can you win this rod, if you are interested, you can see it being built.
Peter Jon Bauer, owner of the Angler’s Edge, 1420-A Highway 395 in Gardnerville, is in the process of preparing this rod and will be happy to share his expertise with you. Bauer is building a custom 7-foot, 4-weight 2-piece bamboo rod, which will be worth approximately $1,250 when completed.
This rod will be offered for raffle at $10 per ticket at the High Sierra Fly Casters Sixth Annual Fly Fishing Festival, Sunday, April 16, at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden. The raffle will consist of 125 tickets only
People may stop by the Angler’s Edge, view this process and purchase their tickets.Or tickets may be purchased at the festival, if they are still available. Last year, tickets for Bauer’s rod sold out rapidly, as bamboo rods have become collector’s items over the years. For information, call 782-4734.
