Fly fishers set swap meet

Staff reports

Just in case it slipped your mind, the High Sierra Fly Casters want to remind you of the fishermen’s Swap Meet being held Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the old Copeland Lumber yard cement pad, 1572 Highway 395.

Any and all fishing equipment is permissible and anyone may participate. People may spend the day and sell, trade or swap their items. If they prefer, they may request the club to sell their treasures for a 25 percent consignment fee.

For reservations or more information, call Barry Jobe at 782-2522 during the day or Susan Oakwood at 883-7257 evenings. People must reserve their spaces by tomorrow, Sept. 18.

A non-profit organization, the High Sierra Fly Casters is family-oriented and encourages women and children to become members, welcoming beginners.

The club has two major objectives – to promote fly fishing and to encourage and support proper management of all fisheries in the Carson Valley, whether the fishing is predominately with fly or otherwise.
