Fly casters to have fish day

Staff reports

Meadow Lake will be the site of the High Sierra Fly Casters’ fishout this Sunday, Sept. 14. The lake is about 2 miles west of Lower Blue Lake. This very large reservoir has been generously stocked with cutthroat trout. As there is little fishing pressure on this lake, the trout have grown to a large size.

Fishers should take everything they need, including food and water. Parking is very limited, so attendees are asked to let Jack Kowalski know if they are coming. Car pooling is planned. Times vary. A few members will be there by 8 a.m.

The walk from the parking area to the lake is about a quarter of a mile, and the walk out is up a moderate slope, which will make most people carrying a float tube huff and puff.

For information or to assist with the car pooling, contact Kowalski at 782-6576.
