Fly Casters offer fishing expert

by Rosemarie Middendorf

The monthly meeting of the High Sierra Fly Casters will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the CVIC Hall in Minden. Fly tying will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the program at 7 p.m.

Speaker for the evening will be Bill Nichols, fishing boss at the Ascularius Ranch on the upper Owens River. This famous stretch of private water requires the best in technical fishing. It is small, clear and fairly heavily fished. Nichols is a master at this kind of demanding fishing and is willing to share his secrets.

The High Sierra Fly Casters, a non-profit organization, is a family-oriented group open to all ages. Everyone is welcome. For information, contact President Gene Young at 265-2626, 782-2522 or e-mail
