Genoa, Nev. — A flash flood advisory issued for northern Carson Valley expires at 9:15 p.m.

The storm responsible for the rain moved north into central Lyon County and Storey County.

The advisory was issued at 6:19 p.m. after National Weather Service radar indicated a quarter-inch of rain fell in the Pine Nuts above Johnson Lane.

Douglas County deputies closed East Valley Road at Eldon and Kiss after reporing water over the road.

Douglas County Search and Rescue responded to help with traffic control as deputies reported trouble spots.

According to the Weather Service, because the ground in the neighborhood was already saturated it was more likely that the rainfall would run off.

Friday was the third straight day of flooding in Johnson Lane.

It is also predicted to be the end of seven days of wet weather. The forecast for Saturday is for sunny skies and a high temperature of 79 degrees.
